About the Role:

My rapidly-growing client is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to head up a Healthcare Project, Programme and Portfolio Management function. This senior position will play a pivotal role in delivering complex programmes across the private and public Healthcare sectors, driving operational excellence, and leading a high-performing team.

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, commercial leadership, and delivery oversight for a large team of project and programme managers, ensuring best-in-class client outcomes and continued business growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a large team, delegating responsibilities to managers and ensuring all team members adhere to professional standards
  • Oversee project and programme delivery across private and public Healthcare clients (with occasional Life Sciences clients as demand requires)
  • Ensure best practice in project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement; actively supervise the approach and undertaking of projects and programmes
  • Mentor, develop, and support team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Contribute to business planning, resource management, and strategic decision-making at leadership level


Required Experience & Skills:

  • Extensive experience in Healthcare (or Life Sciences) projects, ideally with strong exposure to NHS or public sector clients
  • Proven track record leading large-scale project or programme management teams within a consultancy or client advisory environment
  • Demonstrable success in client management and business development
  • Strong understanding of major capital programmes, infrastructure delivery, and complex stakeholder environments
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with experience overseeing multi-level teams
  • Commercially astute, outcome-focused, and capable of driving both delivery and profitability
  • Recognised professional qualifications (e.g. MAPM, RICS, ICE, Prince2, MSP) desirable but not essential
